Were lucky to have about 250 volunteers from the Sturgeon Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer Association (SHAVA) on our team. SHAVA volunteers work in our emergency department and on the medicine unit, assist with the adult day program, host weekly afternoon teas for patients and visitors and conduct hospital tours for children in kindergarten. Our volunteers also operate the The Cats Whiskers gift shop in the hospital and a used bookstore in Grandin Park Plaza. Proceeds go towards hospital equipment and projects. There are numerous volunteer opportunities at the Sturgeon Community Hospital. Our volunteers provide considerable support to our patient care programs and to our fund raising initiatives.
